Opening of NICU

Since 30th of December, 2020, our new NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) is in use, saving lives of premature babies and other neonates who need intensive monitoring.
It is located in the same building as our new ICU and Dialysis units, close to theatre and labour ward.
On 11th of January, 2021, a small opening ceremony took place.

Thanks to generous donations, our new NICU has been equipped with modern high-end machines.
Two Dräger-incubators are in use for babies with extremely low birth weight, as well as two baby warmers with electronic temperature control system. Oxygen and compressed air are available as well as ventilation for babies through Baby-CPAP.
Two phototherapy machines are ready for neonates with neonatal jaundice.
