Mother-and-child Care Centre

The infrastructure of our hospital’s pediatric clinic as well as that of the labour ward and maternity is already more than 50 years old and renovations are overdue.
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which has been constructed in 2020, is highly beneficial for our patients and due to the high demand the rooms are now already too small.
Furthermore, these functions for mothers and children are scattered in different areas of the hospital.
Therefore, during a workshop with our architect in December 2022, we drew up plans for a mother-child center, which accommodates all functions mentioned above in one area of the hospital.

We are planning a comprehensive renovation of the existing structure of our paediatric ward with an extension for the functions of neonatal intensive care (NICU), pediatric intensive care (PICU), labour and maternity wards.
In addition to the patient rooms, a reception area, doctor´s and examination rooms are provided for each of the areas mentioned above. An operating theatre is planned at labour ward and therapy and meeting rooms will be provided at pediatric ward, as well as a teaching kitchen where the preparation of a balanced mixed diet can be demonstrated to the mothers of malnourished children.
