New Specialists

Thanks to the cooperation with Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) and Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI), new specialists are visiting us regularly in Ndanda, commencing in June, 2022.
They cover the areas of dermatology, cardiology, ENT, gynaecology, anaesthesiology, oromaxillary surgery and neurosurgery. We are also cooperating with a urologist, who is visiting us on the basis of an individual agreement. The specialists visit us for several days per month, according to their availability and the demand of our institute.
In addition to these specialists, a nutritionist and an orthopist and prosthetist are visiting us from Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute for 1-2 weeks per month.

The need for these services is high. Many patients from the villages, especially children, need the consultation of a dermatologist. During a screening in primary schools, we have observed that 70 to 80% of all children have fungal infections. The same applies to the areas of ENT and cardiologist. The oromaxillary surgeon performs complex procedures of oromaxillary surgery, e.g. for patients with complicated fractures of the face. A senior neurosurgeon (Prof. Dr. Kahamba) is doing neurosurgical procedures for patients with intracranial bleeding or tumor.
The presence of a nutritionist is of great value for our patients of diabetes and hypertension clinics, dialysis unit, ICU as well as for our inpatients of paediatric, medical and surgical wards.
The orthotist and prosthetist capacitates us to manufacture sophisticated orthesis and prosthesis.
