Blessing Ceremony for Emergency Department
On 24th April 2023, the new Emergency Department with an administration block, the renovation of the Outpatient Department as well as the extension of our nursing school (Ndanda COHAS), were officially inaugurated with a blessing ceremony. This was officiated by the retired Abbot Anastasius Reiser OSB and Br. Tobias Dammert OSB, who visited us from the Benedictine mission house in Schuyler (USA) in the presence of their host, our own Abbot Christian Temu OSB of Ndanda Abbey.
The new Emergency Department is already fully operational. At the entry point, an information desk with triage are allocated. Two resuscitation rooms, emergency theatre and treatment rooms are also part of the emergency department.
At the newly renovated general OPD, a reception, triage and 12 doctor’s rooms including specialist clinics are available.
The first floor provides administration offices, which are already occupied and operational.
Additionally, the extended nursing school (Ndanda COHAS) block provides a dining hall for up to 220 students, a computer laboratory and library.
