Renovation of theatre

The hospital’s operating theatre was built in 2004 and no longer meets current standards regarding structure, functionality, and route guidance. The number of operating rooms is no longer sufficient due to increasing demand and many specialists. Due to the route guidance, hygiene standards cannot be observed with the existing structure.
Renovation of the existing structure of the operating theatre is therefore urgently needed.
In 2024, we have managed to start with construction measures and we expect to finish in 2026.

At the end of the renovation we will have two additional theatre rooms, one pre-/post-room for the patients, two preparation rooms for anaesthesia, changing rooms, offices, on-call rooms and one lounge for the staff.
Once completed, the expanded operation building will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to conduct a higher number of surgical procedures across different departments. The improved facility will help to address previous challenges such as limited space and surgical capacity. Overall, the project will greatly benefit both the hospital and the community by improving access to safe, efficient, and timely surgical services.
