Renovation of theatre

The hospital’s operating theatre was built in 2004 and no longer meets current standards regarding structure, functionality, and route guidance. The number of operating rooms is no longer sufficient due to increasing demand and many specialists. Due to the route guidance, hygiene standards cannot be observed with the existing structure.
Renovation of the existing structure of the operating theatre is therefore urgently needed.
During the year 2023, our architect has prepared plans for the construction measures.

Fortunately, we have managed to secure the funds needed for the 1st phase of construction by April 2024 and in June 2024, we were able to start with construction. The first phase comprises the renovation of the area of the “lower” theatre and the sterilization department.
One septic theatre and two theatre rooms for general surgery will be installed here. The sterilization department will be relocated to the area between the “upper” and “lower” operating tracts.
Once the first phase of renovation is finished, the newly renovated rooms can be utilized and renovation of the “upper” theatre can start, where 2 theatre rooms are to be provided for orthopedic surgery, one for ophthalmology and one for various purposes – presumed that the funds required will be available by that time.
