Paediatric Ward
Children up to 12 years of age are hospitalised on our paediatric ward.
Two specialists, one Medical Doctor (MD), five intern doctors and 22 nurses take care of these patients.
The department offers hematological, biochemical parasitological services and imaging like Ultrasound, ECHO and X-ray. We manage all pediatric conditions including heart problems, and if required referral for superspecialized services to Muhimbili National Hospital or Ocean Road Hospital at Dar Es Salaam. The department takes care of patients with rare diseases such as sphingolipidosis, who require enzyme replacement therapy.
Thanks to the project “Exemptions for children” we can offer services free of charge for children whose parents cannot afford the expenses for investigations and treatment.
